Mistaken identity

1. Handiplast

original use - cover/dress wounds
now - girls to stick it on the heels to prevent abrasion from uncomfortable shoes

2. Handphone

original use - contacting people on the move
now - people judge a handphone by the megapixels that they have or the ability to to view videos/listen to mp3 rather than their connectivity and reception coverage.

i'm trying to think of more stuff that are used or popularised in a way that is not originally intended.
